Currently, captures should be limited to:
- Outdoor areas with GNSS and good lighting conditions.
- A recommended range of 20 to 30 minutes per capture. Subdivide into multiple captures if you need to capture larger areas.
- Keeping objects of interest within 5 meters (15 feet) of capturing path to ensure the highest quality and best reconstruction. The full range is approximately 30 meters (90 feet) for the point cloud reconstruction or 10 meters (30 feet) for the orthophoto reconstruction.
To Capture:
- Pick a starting point for your site capture. A location with a few distinct features like a sign.
- Think of capturing an area like you mow a lawn if the area is big such as a parking lot, with back-and-forth rows, separated by roughly 5-10 meters (15-30 feet) between passes

- Continue these rows until you have completed the area of interest.
Corridor Captures
- Split corridor into tiled areas so each section of roadway is a capture
- maximum 40-minutes per capture
- multiple parallel lines in opposite directions
- walk along features of interest - such as for curb lines
- loop closures at intersections

For highest detail!
For the highest level of detail and quality, be sure to circle around objects that are of interest (buildings, power poles, pedestals, etc.) and even increase the number of capture lines in your path.
