Restarting the qCam and iPhone clears most temporary problems, such as a frozen app, a dropped connection, or an update that didn’t finish. Use Option 1 whenever you can. Only use Option 2 if the Looq app isn’t responding.
Option 1: The Looq app is working
- Shut down the qCam. On the iPhone, open the Looq app and go to the main screen. Tap Shut Down, then wait for the qCam to finish shutting down.
- Shut down the iPhone. Press and hold the button on the right side of the iPhone until the power-off slider appears, then drag the slider to turn it off.
- Power on the qCam. Unplug the power cable from the qCam, then plug it back in. The qCam turns on as soon as it has the power returned.
- Turn on the iPhone. Press and hold the button on the right side until the Apple logo appears.
- Reconnect. Connect the iPhone to the qCam’s Wi-Fi and open the Looq app.
You can turn on the qCam and iPhone in either order. If the iPhone doesn’t connect to the qCam one way, restart both again and turn them on in the other order.
Option 2: The Looq app isn’t working
Use this option only when you have to. Pulling the power cable shuts the qCam down without warning. If a capture is running, it may be lost or corrupted, and doing this often can cause further problems. Always try Option 1 first.
- Turn off the qCam. Unplug the power cable from the qCam.
- Restart the iPhone. Press and hold the button on the right side until the power-off slider appears, drag it to turn the iPhone off, then hold the button again to turn it back on.
- Power on the qCam. Wait about 5 seconds, then plug the power cable back into the qCam.
- Reconnect. Connect the iPhone to the qCam’s Wi-Fi and open the Looq app.
As with Option 1, the order doesn’t matter. If you have trouble connecting, try turning them on in the other order.
