You will have the following included in your orange case. This is a quick visual reference for the terminology used in this document:

1. Powering On the qCam
Before you can start a scan, the qCam needs to be connected to a charged battery. Follow these steps to power it on:
-
Attach the 99Wh V-Mount Battery to the provided V-Mount battery plate with belt clip by pressing down on the red tab and sliding the battery securely into place.

-
Connect the battery belt clip cable to the power input on the bottom of the qCam.

-
The qCam will power on automatically once it's connected to a power source. you'll know it's working when the lights turn on.

- The qCam's fan will turn on automatically to prevent overheating while it's connected to the battery.
- To check the battery's power level, press the power button on the side of the battery itself.
Note: If the lights don't turn on after connecting the battery, confirm the battery is charged and that the belt clip cable is fully seated in the power input.
2. Mounting the iPhone
Every qCam includes an iPhone that acts as its screen. The iPhone displays a live stream of images from the camera and is used to send commands — no images or other data are ever stored on the iPhone itself (the qCam has 2 TB of onboard storage).
-
Pick up the provided iPhone and confirm it's in its Quad-Lock case.

-
Hold the iPhone above the mount, aligning the Quad-Lock mechanism on the back of the case with the mount.

- Push the black tab on the mount with your thumb, then place the phone into the mount and twist it 45 degrees until it clicks into place.
- Give the phone a gentle tug to confirm it's securely locked in.
Note: Mount the iPhone in landscape mode for capture.
3. Connecting the iPhone to the qCam's Wi-Fi
The iPhone connects to the qCam over the qCam's own internal Wi-Fi network — this is what lets the phone act as the live screen and control interface. Charging the iPhone over USB-C to Lightning does not connect it to the qCam; the Wi-Fi step below is required every time.
- On the iPhone, go to Settings and tap Wi-Fi.
- Find the qCam's Wi-Fi network in the list of available networks. It's named after the serial number printed on the underside of the qCam (for example, “LOOQ Q 62D940E7”).

-
Select the network and enter the password: 12345678.

- Once connected, open the qCam app on the iPhone.
Note: If the network doesn't appear in the list, confirm the qCam is powered on (Step 1) and that you're within a few feet of the device — its Wi-Fi range is short by design.
