Transfer Captures from the qCam to Your Computer

Download captures from the qCam to a computer, then upload them in qApp

Updated on October 19th, 2026

Use this method when you have only a few captures to transfer, when the internet connection at your site is slow or unreliable, or when a firewall stops the qCam from uploading directly. You’ll download the captures from the qCam to your computer, then upload them to qApp from anywhere with a faster connection.

Before you start

  • A laptop or computer with Wi-Fi and a web browser
  • A charged qCam battery
  • Enough free disk space, since capture files can be large

Download captures from the qCam

  1. Power on the qCam. Connect the qCam to its battery. You can charge the battery with the USB-C power supply while the qCam is running.
  2. Connect your computer to the qCam’s Wi-Fi. On your computer, join the network Looq #Serial Number#. The password is 12345678.
  3. Open the qCam in your browser. Go to http://10.0.50.1.
  4. Open Saved Captures. Select Saved Captures.
  5. Download your captures. Find each capture you want and click the download button beside it. The .lmr files save to your computer’s Downloads folder.
  6. Wait for the downloads to finish. Keep the qCam powered on and your computer connected until every file has finished downloading.

Upload the captures in qApp

  1. Reconnect to the internet. Switch your computer back to your normal Wi-Fi or wired network.
  2. Sign in to qApp. Go to client.looq.ai.
  3. Start an upload. Open the Uploads tab and select + Upload Capture.
  1. Choose the site you want to add it to. You can either select an existing site using the drop down or create a new site. See Creating a Site if you need assistance.
  2. Add your .lmr files. Drag the files from your computer's folder into the upload wizard.
  3. Finish the wizard. Assign a site, add any base station files, and confirm on the Review page to start processing.
