Connecting To Wired Network

Connecting your qCam over ethernet to upload your captures or install the latest software update.

Updated on October 19th, 2026

When connecting to a wired network, keep your camera off until you are connected. Only after the ethernet wires are connected, then you can turn on the camera and iPhone to get your upload started.

Wired Connection

Use this option if you do not have a stable wireless connection for the qCam. Wired connections are typically more stable and faster than a wireless connection, so this option is usually a better option.

1. Using the supplied USB-C to Ethernet adapter, plug the adapter into the USB-C port on the qCam, then connect an ethernet cable to the adapter directly to a wall outlet to connect.

Note

The ethernet connection is not to a computer or a laptop, but directly to an ethernet wall outlet to get direct wired internet access to the qCam

2. There is no indication that you are connected to the internet other than seeing that the internet connection is good at the top of the iPhone screen.

You are now connected!

This will allow you to upload your captures directly from the qCam to our secure cloud environment.

3. Once connected, go to “Saved Captures” on the qCam, and you can start uploading your captures from the qCam.
